Skattebo first starred at Rio Linda High School in Rio Linda, California. As a junior he rushed for 3,550 yards and 42 touchdowns on his way to winning a state championship. He then committed to the Sacramento State Hornets, as he didn’t get any other Division 1 school offers.
In his freshman season, he rushed for 520 yards and six touchdowns. He only had 57 carries. He was named to the Third-Team All-Big Sky Honors.
In 2022, he rushed for 1,382 yards and seven touchdowns. When you add in the fact that he returned an onside kick for a touchdown and he had a passing touchdown, that made this a very good season.
Skattebo transferred to the Arizona State Sun Devils in 2023. He ran for 783 yards and had nine touchdowns. When you factor in 286 receiving yards and a touchdown, that’s solid. This athlete also completed six passes for 130 yards and a touchdown and had eight punts for 330 yards as well. He’s a terrific athlete.
2024 would be his finest season. He had 293 carries for 1,711 yards and 21 touchdowns. Skattebo added 45 catches for 605 yards and three touchdowns. He averaged 5.8 yards per carry and 13.4 yards per catch. Additionally, he broke the single-season Arizona State rushing record and was fifth in Heisman voting. He was First-Team All-American and First-Team All-Big 12.
At 219 pounds, he ran a 4.66 in the 40-yard dash at the 2025 NFL Combine. His 10’3” long jump and 17 reps on the weight bench caught the Giants’ eye. Make sure you start collecting his cards now.

His 2024 Wild Card Alumination Dino-Might Card is a good one. It’s numbered to just 15 and he shares the card with a dinosaur. It’s unique for sure.
