NFL Future Watch: Dalton Kincaid Football Cards, Buffalo Bills – Dalton Kincaid was drafted 25th overall by the Buffalo Bills in the 2023 NFL Draft. It started for him at Faith Lutheran High School in Summerlin, Nevada.
The tight end only played one season of high school football and he made it count. Kincaid had 745 yards receiving with eight touchdowns. He was a walk-on at the University of San Diego.
As a freshman, he had 24 catches for 374 yards and 11 touchdowns. A good start to a potentially stellar career.
As a junior, he had 44 receptions for 835 yards and eight touchdowns, leading all FCS tight ends in yards per catch. Kincaid averaged an astounding 21 yards per catch. He was named AP FCS All-American.
Kinkaid transferred to the University of Utah and played a five-game, shortened pandemic season there. He had one catch for 14 yards.
In 2021, Kincaid was back full-time and caught 36 receptions for 510 yards and eight touchdowns. On the blocking side, he gave up no sacks. It’s hard to get past a man that size no matter how good you are.
2022 would be his last NCAA season. He played in 12 games and showed the best production in his short career. Kincaid caught 70 balls for 890 yards and eight touchdowns. An average of 12.7 yards per catch is really good for a tight end. He didn’t give up a sack when he was blocking, a stat that shows his all-around game. He was named a mid-season All-American and was a semifinalist for the John Mackey Award.
Kincaid took his 6’4” 246-pound frame to the 2023 NFL Combine. He ran a 4.71 in the 40-yard dash. For a player of that size, that’s a good time. At that point in time, his draft stock was very high. The Bills with quarterback, Josh Allen, just made their offense even more dangerous than the year before.
