NFL Future Watch: Jahan Dotson Football Cards, Washington Commanders – Jahan Dotson was drafted by the Washington Commanders with the 16th overall pick in the 2022 NFL Draft. This Newark, New Jersey native continues to stay close to home.
Dotson made a big name for himself playing college ball at Penn State. He got into eight games in his 2018 freshman year. He had 13 receptions for 203 yards and averaged 15.6 per catch. That boded well the following season.
In 2019, he had 27 catches for 488 yards and five touchdowns. He averaged 18.1 per catch. Dotson wasn’t the primary receiver, but he was getting closer to that status.
Dotson became Penn State’s top receiver in 2020. Against Ohio State, he caught eight passes for 144 yards and three touchdowns. That season, he added a punt return touchdown to the eight that he caught through the air. He led the team with 52 catches for 884 yards. Dotson was named to the third-team All-Big Ten.
2021 was Dotson’s finest year as a Nittany Lion receiver. In a win over Maryland, he set a school record for most yards receiving in a game with 242! He caught three touchdowns on that day as well. Dotson closed out the season with 91 receptions for 1,182 yards and 12 touchdowns. He added a rushing touchdown as well.
After garnering first-team All-Big Ten honors, he was ready for the NFL Draft. Dotson ran a 4.43 at the NFL Combine. Having a 36” vertical is huge considering he’s known for going up and getting the ball. If he catches one in the flat, he can run out the field with just a key block or two.

One sharp card is Dotson’s 2022 Panini Chronicles Draft Picks Rookie. It shows him in his Penn State gear carrying the ball just out of the reach of defenders.
A second card to look for is his 2022 Panini Prestige Football Rookie, showing him after the catch and about to bust a move to get more yardage.
Another outstanding card is his 2022 Leaf Ultimate Draft autographed card. It’s an interesting signature, and he’s shown running the ball after a catch.
Dotson is a budding star who is getting a lot of accolades in his first NFL camp. He should get plenty of catches this year for Washington.
