NFL Future Watch: Kenny Pickett Football Cards, Pittsburgh Steelers – Kenny Pickett was drafted 20th overall by the Pittsburgh Steelers in the 2022 NFL Draft. Some say the quarterback fell. Maybe that’s true; the cause was his hand size.
Even though he was born and raised in New Jersey, his Pittsburgh roots have been growing.
His freshman season wasn’t stellar at the University of Pittsburgh. Pickett was the backup, starting third on the depth chart. When he eventually got a start against the University of Miami, the talented quarterback threw for one touchdown and ran for another two. He was 39 for 66 for 509 yards, one passing touchdown, and one interception.
In 2018, Pickett started all 14 games. He was 180 of 310 for 1,969 yards, 12 touchdowns, and six interceptions. He led his team to their first-ever ACC Coastal Division Championship. AP had the team ranked as high as 24th in the national rankings. Pickett played in the Sun Bowl and lost 14-13 against Stanford.
He started in 12 games due to injury in 2019. He still threw for 3,098 yards and 13 touchdowns against nine interceptions. This time they played in the Quick Lane Bowl, and he led his team to a 34-30 victory over Eastern Michigan.
In 2020, Pickett led his team to a 6-5 record in the shortened season. He still threw for 2,408 yards with 13 touchdowns and nine interceptions. Even though they were ranked 21st they opted out of participating in the playoffs.
Because Covid-19 shortened seasons, Pickett had an extra year of eligibility like every other NCAA athlete. He blew up, throwing for 4,319 yards, and 42 touchdowns! He set school records for yardage and touchdowns for a single season and career. Pickett led his team to an 11-2 record and an ACC Championship. He was ready for the NFL Draft.

One card to get is Pickett’s 2022 Panini Chronicles Draft Picks Rookie. He’s pictured in his collegiate jersey. The card has a great look and he is pictured dropping back to find the open receiver with his strong arm.
Another card to look for is his 2022 Panini Chronicles Donruss Optic Rookie. The card has the “Rated Rookie” which is always a favorite among collectors. This photo shows him looking to run downfield.
One last card is his 2022 Leaf Ultimate Draft Autograph. They come in different degrees of scarcity. The design looks clean, and the autograph is unique. Collect any of them before he gets his season rolling.
