NFL Future Watch: Kyle Hamilton Football Cards, Baltimore Ravens – Kyle Hamilton was drafted by the Baltimore Ravens with the 14th overall pick in the 2022 NFL Draft. His family is talented. His father is Derrick Hamilton who played European League basketball. It goes without saying this 6’4” 220-pound safety can play the game at a high level.
Hamilton played his high school football at Marist School in Brookhaven, Georgia. He played safety and wide receiver at that time. As a top player, he appeared in the 2019 All-American Bowl. After that, he committed to the University of Notre Dame.
In his freshman season in college and he made 27 solo tackles and 41 in total. He had six passes defended, four interceptions, and one returned for a touchdown.
In 2020, his sophomore season, Hamilton had 51 solo tackles and 63 overall. He had six passes defended with one interception and received First-Team All-ACC honors.
In 2021, his junior season, Hamilton played in just seven games. He had 19 solo tackles and 34 in total. He had four passes defended with three interceptions. Hamilton was a Consensus All-American and was on the watch list for multiple big honors that he didn’t win. He would forego his senior season to jump into the NFL Draft.
Hamilton ran a 4.59 in the 40-yard dash at the 2022 NFL Combine. His 38-inch vertical leap and 10’11” broad jump were icing on the cake. He was a guaranteed first rounder.
Hamilton started off the season slowly. He was learning to adjust to the NFL. He’s been very strong at man-to-man coverage gaining some good grades from various scouting services. His physicality has been on display as well as his closing speed. Especially on tackling, he’s improved in that area. He’s played in nine games and the Ravens have won seven of them. Through nine, he has 34 tackles, two passes defended, one forced fumble, and one sack.
