NFL Future Watch: Rondale Moore Football Cards, Arizona Cardinals – Rondale Moore was drafted by the Arizona Cardinals as the 49th overall pick in the 2021 NFL Draft. Already, he is becoming an important target for Kyler Murray. At 5’7”, with the kind of speed he has, the Cardinals stepped up and got potential first round value in the second round. That’s how you continue to win as a franchise.
He attended New Albany High School in New Albany, Indiana. In 2016, he was a part of their championship basketball team. He later transferred to Trinity High School where he became a four-star caliber recruit according to Rivals.com.
This former high school All-American committed to Purdue University. By the time the 2018 season rolled around this phenom gained 2,048 all-purpose yards to go along with 13 touchdowns combined. Aptly, Moore was awarded the Paul Hornung signifying he was the most versatile player in college football. The Sporting News voted him as a freshman consensus All-American in lockstep with the Football Writers Association.
Over the course of the next two seasons, Moore would only find the endzone three times in just seven games. He had grade 1 hamstring issues over those two seasons causing all that missed time.
Moore was ready for the NFL draft. On his pro day, the speedy pass catcher posted an unofficial 40-yard dash time of 4.29, meaning it was probably recorded the old-fashioned way with a stopwatch. Teams may have been worried about his injury history on draft day.
In Moore’s second NFL game, he caught a 77-yard touchdown pass from Murray. After those two games, he accumulated 11 catches for a 16.6 yards per catch average. That’s how you burst on the scene in the NFL.
