NFL Future Watch: Shedeur Sanders Football Cards, Draft Prospect – Shedeur Sanders, son of NFL Hall of Famer, Deion Sanders, is a talented quarterback and one of the top players in the 2025 NFL Draft. At 6’2” and 212 pounds, he’s a dual threat.
He first made his mark at Tristian Trinity School in Cedar Hill, Texas. His father was the offensive coordinator and as a senior, Sanderspassed for 3,702 yards and 43 touchdowns. He was a four-star recruit and attended Jackson State after his dad was named the head coach.
In 2021, he played in a COVID-19 shortened season. He passed for 3,231yards with 30 touchdowns against eight interceptions. Sanders was named Freshman Southwest Athletic Conferenceof the Year and second-team All-SWAC. He won the Jerry Rice Award as the most outstanding freshman in NCAA Division I Subdivision and the first player from an HBCU University to win the award.
Sanders opened the 2022 season with a bang. He had 323 yards and five touchdowns in a 59-3 win over Florida A&M. The season total was 3,732 yards and 40 touchdowns and just six interceptions. It was a fantastic sophomore season, and he was named the SWAC Offensive Player of the Year. After the 2022 Celebration Bowl, he entered the transfer portal to attend Colorado University.
At Colorado, he played in 11 games in 2023. Sanders passed for 3,230 yards and 27 touchdowns with just three interceptions. His 69.3 pass completion percentage was excellent.
In 2024, he played in 13 games. He threw for an astounding 4,134 yards and 37 touchdowns with just 10 interceptions. Sanders had completed passes at a 74 percent clip. He was named to First-Team All-Big 12 among other accolades. This season made him a top prospect in the draft.
