NHL Future Watch: Bobby Brink Hockey Cards, Philadelphia Flyers – Bobby Brink was drafted by the Philadelphia Flyers with the 34th overall pick in the 2023 NHL Draft. This 5’8” right-wing has a lot of skill and scoring potential. The Flyers needed it then, and they still need it today.
Brink hails from Minnetonka, Minnesota, and he was a star at Minnetonka High School. In 2017-18, he had 13 goals and 44 points in 25 games. During that season, likely on weekends, he played for some other teams including the Sioux City Musketeers in the USHL where he scored four points in 13 games.
In 2018-19, he didn’t catch on with the NTDP, so he went back to Sioux City and had a monster year. He scored 35 goals with 33 assists in 43 games. In two playoff games, he added two points. He was the USHL Forward of the Year. Brink did get a chance to play in the U18s where he had six points in five games. That added to his draft buzz.
Brink committed to the University of Denver, one of the best hockey programs in the country. In 2019-20, he had to shake off some injuries, but he played in 28 games and had 11 goals and 13 assists. Brink was voted to the NCHC All-Rookie Team.
2020-21 was another good year for this prospect. He did get hurt again but managed to accomplish some good things, nonetheless. In 15 games with Denver, he had 11 points. During that season he represented Team USA in the 2021 World Junior Championship. Brink came home with a gold medal. He had six points in seven games during the tournament.
2021-22 was a terrific year for Brink. He was a Hobey Baker Finalist. In 41 games, this goal scorer netted 14 goals adding 43 helpers. He helped Denver win a National Championship. At the end of that season, he signed with the Flyers playing 10 games with the big club. He had four points.
A hip surgery caused him to miss a lot of the 2022-23 season. He returned in January scoring two goals in his first two games with Lehigh Valley.
