Blake grew up in Eden Prairie, Minnesota. He spent a season at Shattuck St. Mary’s, a famous school with a great hockey program. After that, he played hockey at Eden Prairie High School. Minnesota high school hockey is an institution. As a junior, he had 20 goals and 38 assists in 19 games. He scored a big double-overtime goal to win the 2021 Class 2A state championship.
Besides high school hockey, Blake was playing for the Chicago Steel in the USHL. In his second season there, he scored 27 goals with 50 assists in 61 games. He added two points in three playoff games.
In 2022-23, he attended the University of North Dakota. There, he had 16 goals and 26 assists in 39 games. He was named to the NCHC All-Rookie team as well as NCHC Rookie of the Year. During the season, he represented Team USA in the World Juniors scoring six points in seven games. They took home the bronze medal.
2023-24 was an even bigger year for the forward. In 40 games, he had 22 goals and 38 assists. He was named NCHC Player of the Year as well as NCHC Forward of the Year and a Hobey Baker Finalist. He was ready to turn pro. After the season, he signed with Carolina and played in one regular-season game.

One card to get is Blake’s 2024-25 O-Pee-Chee Retro Rookie. It’s a great-looking card and a good way to get this player into your collection.
Another card is his 2024-25 Black Diamond Rookie Gems Signature. It’s got a nice signature, and the card is serial-numbered to 199.
The last card may be his best. His 2024-25 Upper Deck Young Guns rookie is a classic. The card shows him in his Canes sweater and has that classic Young Guns look.
