NHL Future Watch: K’Andre Miller Hockey Cards, New York RangersNHL Future Watch: K’Andre Miller Hockey Cards, New York Rangers – K’Andre Miller was drafted by the New York Rangers 22nd overall in the 2018 NHL Draft. Originally a forward, he was converted to a blueliner. Speed and his 6’4”, 216-pound frame make him a potent player. The Rangers and their fans have high expectations for him as he continues to learn on the job.

This Minnesota native played for the National Team Development Program. He played for the U17 and U18 teams. In 169 games, he had 70 points, 16 of them goals. The numbers weren’t spectacular, but he was still new to the position of playing defense, so it was a big positive.

Miller committed to the University of Wisconsin. While the program has been up and down at times, his freshman season was good from an offensive perspective. He had five goals and 22 points in 26 games and a place on the 2018-19 All-Big Ten Rookie Team. During that season, he represented Team USA in the 2019 World Junior Championship. Miller had two points in six games and walked away with a silver medal.

In 2019-20, Miller had seven goals and 18 points, along with top-notch defense. He played in another World Junior Championship for Team USA and then left college hockey to turn pro.

In 2020-21, as an NHL rookie, Miller played in 53 of the 56-game season. He had five goals and 12 points, and his defense was solid. He has a bomb of a one-timer, but his skating is tremendous, and his gap control on defense is very good for a young player. Miller was voted to the NHL All-Rookie team after the season. 13 of the last 20 All-Rookie defensemen played NCAA hockey.

NHL Future Watch: K’Andre Miller Hockey Cards, New York Rangers – Cards Worth Chasing

The first card to target is Miller’s  2020-21 Upper Deck Series 2 Young Guns Rookie Card. It’s a card that could have a lot of future value, showing him in action in his Blueshirt.

Another fun card is his 2020-2021 Metal Universe Rookie. It shows him in his white sweater, and the design is eye catching. It has a contrast in colors that I like.

The last one to look for is his 2020-2021 Upper Deck Young Guns Canvas Rookie. This card has the best picture of the up-and-coming player, showing Miller in mid-skating stride. At 21, the best is yet to come especially with the offensive side of his game.
