NHL Future Watch: Landon Slaggert Hockey Cards, Chicago Blackhawks – The Chicago Blackhawks drafted Landon Slaggert with the 79th overall pick in the 2020 NHL Draft. This versatile forward can play center or on the wing, and he has a lot of intangibles coaches love.
Slaggert, a good all-around player on the NTDP, played with stars like Jack Hughes, Matt Boldy, and Cole Caufield. It’s understandable he was more of a role player there with names like that.
In 2020-21, he attended Notre Dame. In 25 games, he had eight goals and 14 assists. That was a big year of development for him. During this season, he played in the World Juniors and never scored a point. He still walked away with a gold medal.
In 2021-22, Slaggert had 12 goals and 14 assists in 40 games. With all the ice time he got, he only had 39 PIMS. He never puts his team in a bad spot with a dumb penalty. His Hockey I.Q. is very high.
In 2022-23, Slaggert started wearing the “A”. He scored seven goals and had six assists in 35 games. His presence on the ice made up for his lesser offense. He won the B1G Sportsmanship Award.
In 2023-24, he had a big year netting 20 goals with 11 assists in 36 games. He was a B1G Second All-Star Team Award, and he was a Hobey Baker Nominee. Slaggert turned professional and played 16 games with the Blackhawks. He looked good and had four points in 16 games.
In 2024-25, he is playing full time with the Rockford IceHogs. In his first 23 games, he has three goals and nine assists. He’s a top five scorer on a good team, and I would expect him to play the entire season there.
NHL Future Watch: Landon Slaggert Cards Worth Collecting
Slaggert’s best card is his 2024-25 Upper Deck Series 1 Young Guns Rookie. He is shown in warmups wearing a classic white Blackhawks sweater.
Another cool card is his 2024-25 Upper Deck Artifacts Gold Foilboard Rookie Parallel. It’s a sparkly card of a fun player to watch who will be a fan favorite in Chicago.
The last card to get is his 2024-25 Upper Deck Series 1 Young Guns Silver Outburst card. Again, this is a great card of a player with upside. He may not be a future star, but he is a player worth watching and collecting. Slaggert keeps improving every season.
