NHL Future Watch: Liam Ohgren Hockey Cards, Minnesota Wild – The Minnesota Wild drafted Liam Ohgren with the 19th overall pick in the 2022 NHL Draft. This talented Swede had a lot of experience playing in his homeland. That’s one reason why he was a first-round talent.
Ohgren grew up with Djurgardens and he started making some big waves in 2021-22 while playing for the J20 team. In 30 games, he had an astounding 33 goals with 25 assists but only six penalty minutes. That stat line got noticed and he was a point-per-game player in the playoffs. Getting in 25 games in the SHL was great experience as well. Ohgren won a gold medal in the U18s and a bronze in the World Juniors too.
In 2022-23, he went up one level to HockeyAllsvenskan. He had 11 goals and nine assists in 20 games. In the postseason, he added eight goals and five assists in 17 games. During that season he represented Sweden in his second World Juniors and had two goals in seven games.
In 2023-24, Ohgren had 12 goals and seven assists for Farjestad BK in the SHL. After a short playoff run, he came to North America and played in his first NHL game for the Wild and then settled in the AHL with the Iowa Wild. Playing in his third World Juniors, he walked away with a silver medal. Another jam-packed season.
In 2024-25, he played in eight games for Iowa and had five goals and an assist. After that, Ohgren was called up to the big club. Though he was scoreless in eight games, they are sticking with him. He might get sent down, and that’s ok. He turns 21 in January, so he is ahead of schedule, just one reason why he is a must collect.

Ohgren’s best card is his 2024-25 Upper Deck Series 1 Young Guns Rookie. The card has a classic design, and it shows him in the classic Wild green sweater. The photo looks like a shot of warmups from his first NHL game.
Another card is his 2024-25 Upper Deck Young Guns Canvas Rookie. This one shows him wearing white and no helmet. That’s a rarity for young players. Usually, it’s the older players who leave them off in warmups.
The last one to get is his 2024-25 Upper Deck Young Guns Outburst Silver Rookie. Again, that great shimmery look highlights a big player in the Wild’s future plans.
