It all started back in 2017-18, when he played in seven regular season games for the Kamloops Blazers. He only scored one point, but he did get two points in six postseason games.
During the pandemic of 2020, he didn’t get in too many games. He scored 10 points in six games. Thankfully, Stankoven represented Team Canada U18s and had four points and four assists in seven games. He scored the championship winning goal, and they took home the gold.
In 2021-22, he played in 59 games and set the league on fire. He scored 45 goals and had 59 assists. In the playoffs, Stankoven had 17 goals and 14 assists in 17 games. He won CHL Player of the Year. He won a gold medal again, this time in the World Juniors, where he scored 11 points in seven games.
In 2022-23, he was named team captain. He had 34 goals and 63 assists in 48 games. Then he had 10 goals and 20 assists in 14 playoff games. Stankoven made it to the Memorial Cup and led all scorers. He won another World Junior gold medal, and he had the most playoff points in the WHL. He was ready to turn pro.
At 5’8” the odds were long that he could be a star. He was always going to make it but there aren’t a lot of stars with his dimensions.
To start 2024-25, he got three points out of the gate in his first two games. He is a threat to win the Calder Trophy.
NHL Future Watch: Logan Stankoven Cards Worth Collecting
One card to get is Stankoven’s 2024-25 Upper Deck MVP Rookie. The card shows him in his Dallas Stars gear and it’s an action photo.
Another card is his 2023 Upper Deck Team Canada Juniors Game Used Jersey. Solid stuff.
One last card is his 2024-25 Upper Deck MVP Colors and Contours Rookie. The red is numbered to 250. I love the contours.
