NHL Future Watch: Lucas Raymond Hockey Cards, Detroit Red Wings – Lucas Raymond was drafted by the Detroit Red Wings with the fourth overall pick in the 2020 NHL Draft. This talented Swede is fast, agile, a playmaker, and a scorer.

From 2014-2019, Raymond played in Frolunda’s system. He had two seasons of over 20 goals, and in his last season, he had 48 points in 37 games.

Between the U17s and U18s in 2018-19, this forward had 11 goals and 31 points in 18 games. That’s crazy production. Sweden struck gold in the U18s, and he scored the goal that won it all for his homeland. Raymond medaled in every tournament he played in that season.

In 2019-20, he played in the SHL scoring 10 points in 33 games. He did end up winning a gold medal in the Champions League Tournament. During this season, he represented Sweden once again. This time it was the U20 World Junior Championship where he scored four points in seven games.

In 2020-21, Raymond started off the season with Frolunda again in the SHL. Raymond had six goals and 12 assists in 34 games. During that season, Raymond played in his second World Junior Championship where he scored five points in five games.

In 2021-22, Raymond made the team in Detroit. This NHL rookie had an exceptional year scoring 23 goals with 57 points in 82 games. Playing in every game is impressive since he’s only 5’10”.  Raymond’s 23 goals led all rookies, and he was third in total points. As a result, he wasn’t a Calder Trophy Finalist. Wait, what? As a voter, I could tell you it was a tough year since there were a ton of great rookies in the league this season. His teammate, defenseman Mortiz Seider won the award.

The best card of Raymond’s to get is his 2021-22 Upper Deck Series 2 Young Guns Rookie Card. This card shows him in his classic whites and getting ready to skate up ice.

Another cool card is his 2021-22 Upper Deck Series 2 Canvas card. He’s dressed in his red uniform and being congratulated by his teammates after scoring a goal.

One last card to get is a classic. In the 2021-22 Upper Deck Series 2 set is a French Young Guns Rookie. These are highly collectible and a nice homage to French sets when they were prevalent back in the day.
