NHL Future Watch: Mackie Samoskevich Hockey Cards, Florida Panthers – Mackie Samoskevich was drafted by the Florida Panthers with the 24th overall pick in the 2021 NHL Draft. This speedy and skilledwinger has a chance to be a perennial all-star, but he needs some development time first.
During his last season at Shattuck St. Mary’s, he played two games in the USHL for the Chicago Steel in 2018-19. He had two points in two games. He would play in the USHL full-time the next year.
In 2019-20, had played for the Steel, a very talented team, and scored 13 goals and 34 points in total in 47 games. A great start to his USHL career.
2020-21 was a big year for him. In 36 games, he had 13 goals and 37 points in total. Then he got 10 points in eight playoff games in a pandemic-shortened season. Steel went on to win the Clark Cup Championship.
In 2021-22, he went to the University of Michigan and put up 29 points in 40 games. He was a B1G Champion and was named to the All-Rookie team. During that season he played in the World Juniors and put up three points in five games for Team USA.
In 2022-23, he scored 20 goals with 23 assists in 39 games. It was a greatseason and a trip to the Frozen Four Semi-Finals even though they lost. Then he turned professional. For the Charlotte Checkers, he had two points in two games. He added four points in seven playoff games.
In 2023-24, Samoskevich made his NHL debut but didn’t score in seven games. He’s been in the AHL with Charlottefull time and recorded 18 goals and 26 assists in his first 53 games. He’s had a solid season and will be a full-time starter next season, so he’s worthy of collecting.

Samoskevich’s best card is his 2023-24 Upper Deck Series 2 Young Guns Rookie. It’s that classic design, and he’s shown skating in his Panthers gear.
Another good one is his 2023-24 O-Pee-Chee Marquee Rookie. It’s that great old school design, and the card looks like it’s him during that first batch of Panthers games he played.
One last card could be his 2023-24 Upper Deck Series 2Young Guns Canvas. He’s shown in a Panthers home jersey with his stick raised. Chances are he was being acknowledged by the home crowd. It’s a great card to get.
