NHL Future Watch: Marian Studenic Hockey Cards, Dallas Stars – Marian Studenic was drafted by the New Jersey Devils in the fifth round of the 2017 NHL Draft. This tricky right wing has a lot of moves and he’s ready to unleash them in the NHL.
Studenic came over from Slovakia and joined the Hamilton Bulldogs. In his first season there, he had 18 goals and 30 points plus some playoff experience. He used the year to get used to North American ice.
The next season, Studenic had 20 goals and 48 points in 62 games. In 21 playoff games, he had 15 points. He was progressing nicely.
In 2018-19, he turned pro and scored 13 goals with 15 helpers in 64 games with the Albany Devils. Then he had 17 points in 37 games with the Binghamton Devils in 2019-20. During the pandemic, he did play hockey overseas. Back in Slovakia, he scored 15 points in 25 games. It was smart to keep him playing even though it’s less than AHL quality.
In 2020-21, he was back in Binghamton and played in 22 games scoring seven points. Studenic did get a chance to play with the Devils in the NHL and he scored two points in eight games. His trajectory was right.
In 2021-22, he played in New Jersey with a new coach, and it only lasted 17 games. When he played with Utica that season, he scored 10 points in 13 games.
Studenic was claimed off waivers by the Dallas Stars. In four games with the Texas Stars of the AHL, he had two goals and six points. When the Dallas Stars had some injuries, Studenic filled in admirably. He had three points in 16 games, but his all-around game was better. He may get a taste of NHL playoffs.
At the age of 23, next season could be the one where he puts it all together. His talent and shot are pro quality. He has good speed, and his defense is NHL good. He needs some playing time.
Cards Worth Chasing
Studenic’s 2021-22 Upper Deck Series 1 Young Guns Rookie Card is the one to get. The picture shows him getting ready to shoot. At this moment in time, it’s his only rookie card.
Another fun card is his 2021-22 Upper Deck Young Guns High Gloss parallel. It shows off the photo. They aren’t easy to find, but they’re out there.
One more nice card is Studenic’s 2021-22 Upper Deck Clear Cut Parallel.
