NHL Future Watch: Matt Rempe Hockey Cards, New York Rangers – Matt Rempe was drafted by the New York Rangers in the sixth round of the 2020 NHL Draft. He’s a big man who can lay a big hit, but he’s more than that.
Back in 2019-20, he had 12 goals and 19 assists in 47 games. He’s 6’8” and a good skater who has pretty good hands around the net. Rempe is going to be a force in the NHL, one way or another.
He only played in 10 games for two different teams during the height of the pandemic.
In 2021-22, he played in 56 games. Rempe had 17 goals and 93 penalty minutes. He’s known for protecting his teammates. In the playoffs, he had eight goals and four assists in 24 games.
In 2022-23, he turned professional and reported to the Hartford Wolf Pack in the AHL. In 53 games, Rempe had six goals and four assists and 87 penalty minutes.
2023-24, was a huge year for the rookie forward. In 43 games, he had eight goals and four assists with 96 penalty minutes. Then the New York Rangers called him up looking for some late season toughness. In 17 games, he had two points and 71 penalty minutes. He got his first NHL goal against the rival Philadelphia Flyers and added one in the postseason as well. Rempe did get to play in the 2024 NHL Stadium Series game against the Philadelphia Flyers.
Collectors love him. He’s a great quote and he talked about how he’s expecting to get more points this season at the NHLPA Rookie Showcase. He did get some fighting lessons in the offseason as well so he will be ready to take on the 2024-25 season.

The best card to get is Rempe’s 2024-25 Upper Deck MVP Rookie. They managed to fit the big man in the frame of the photo and he’s in his Rangers’ blue sweater.
The next best card to get is his 2024-25 Upper Deck MVP Silver Scripts Rookie. It’s more limited and based on Rempe’s popularity, it’s a solid one to target. A great way to kick off the new collecting season.
Rempe has more than a few Topps Now cards. And he will be included in a lot of new sets. So, put him on your lists. You never know what he might turn out to be and he’s just 22, so the skies the limit.
