NHL Future Watch: Nick Perbix Hockey Cards, Tampa Bay LightningNHL Future Watch: Nick Perbix Hockey Cards, Tampa Bay LightningNicklaus Perbix was drafted by the Tampa Bay Lightning with the 169th pick in the 2017 NHL Draft. This 6’4” defenseman has a lot of overall talent, but it took him some time to get to the NHL. That’s ok. Some defensemen can take up until 25 to mature at the position. Perbix will be 25 this coming June.

In 2016-17, he was the captain at Elk River High School in Minnesota. The blueliner scored 40 points in 25 games and seven points in two playoff games. He was named to the USHS All-USA Hockey Second Team.

Perbix joined the Omaha Lancers in the USHL in 2017-18. In 56 games, he had 29 points and two points in four playoff games.

In 2018-19, Perbix started his NCAA career with St. Cloud State. As a freshman, he had five goals and 20 points in 39 games. He was on the NCAA (NCHC) All-Rookie Team.

In 2019-20, he had 15 points in 34 games. The next season Perbix had seven goals and 23 points in 31 games.

In 2021-22, he had six goals and 25 helpers in 31 games. Being a point-per-game defenseman in NCAA isn’t easy. He played 12 games in the AHL for the Syracuse Crunch, scoring eight points. He represented Team USA in the World Championships. In that tournament, the rearguard had one point in four games.

In 2022-23, he made the Lightning out of training camp. Tampa Bay is a perennial playoff and Stanley Cup contender. Perbix over marinated waiting for his turn. In 69 games, he scored five goals with 15 assists. Not bad for a rookie. Then in 2 playoff games he didn’t score. Representing Team USA again in the World Championships, he had two points in his first four games. It was a big year for him. He’s now a regular, and his offense could pick up next year while his defense and toughness are important to the Lightning’s success.

Perbix’s best card is his 2022-23 Upper Deck Series 1 Young Guns Rookie. He’s shown in his Lightning white sweater.

His Upper Deck Series 1 Young Guns Rookie Exclusive is another good option. It’s hard to get, numbered to 100, and the card has some beach colors on it.

You can get this card in high gloss as well. Either way, watch out for him next season.

Kuzmenko’s best card is his 2022-23 Upper Deck Series 2 Young Guns Rookie. The card shows him in his Vancouver white. The photo is a nice action shot of the talented Russian.

The last card would be his 2022-23 O-Pee-Chee Marquee Rookie. The card shows him in the classic Canucks blue. There is an intense look on his face. Don’t miss out on this NHL star.
