Bordeleau PremierNHL Future Watch: Thomas Bordeleau Hockey Cards, San Jose SharksThomas Bordeleau was drafted by the San Jose Sharks with the 38th overall pick in the 2020 NHL Draft. This speedy center has hockey in his blood. His grandfather played for the Vancouver Canucks, and his father Sebastien saw time with the Montreal Canadiens and Nashville Predators in the 90s. Having a hockey pedigree is important.

Brodeleau was an excellent player when he was one of many stars on the National Team Development Program. In 2019, his combined numbers were 23 goals and 64 points in 66 games. After that, he was off to the University of Michigan.

In 2020-21, his freshman season, the talented forward had 30 points in 24 games. That got him named to the B1G All-Rookie Team as well as Rookie of the Year and the Tim Taylor Award as the Top Collegiate Rookie.

In 2021-22, Bordeleau had 12 goals and 25 assists in 37 games. He did get a chance to represent Team USA in the World Junior Championship where he had eight points in five games. He was voted a top-three player on his team. After that, he turned professional, played in eight games with the Sharks, and played for the Barracuda in the AHL. He had three points in two games in the AHL. Then he played in the World Championships. That was a busy year.

In 2022-23, he played his season with the Barracuda once again. In his first 57 games, he had 20 goals and 29 points. A terrific rookie season where he might have a shot at the Rookie of the Year Award in the league. Even if he doesn’t, this season should get him a long look at the next training camp with the Sharks.

Bordeleau is smart, fast, and can be a playmaker or goal scorer. He’s a talent that should be collected. He’s only 21, so there’s a bright future ahead of him as the Sharks try and become a good team again.
