Off The Post: Connor Bedard Hockey Cards, Chicago Blackhawks – Connor Bedard has been in the spotlight since he was 12 years old when he was named “The Future of Hockey” by The Hockey News. It’s been five years since that article appeared in 2018, and Bedard has lived up to those expectations with his dominant play at the amateur and junior levels.
It’s never easy for a young man with high expectations to fully live up to them when all the focus is on him. And, for Bedard, who has been mentioned in the same breath as Wayne Gretzky, Sidney Crosby, Connor McDavid, as well as other legends of the game, the expectations, as well as the shadow, are extremely large. But, even though he’s still very young, the 5-foot-10, 185-pound Bedard has proven that while the expectations seem lofty, like in The Hockey News article, he’s ready for the challenge to fulfill his legacy.
One day that legacy may include hoisting the Stanley Cup. Prior to the NHL Draft, Bedard experienced what it takes to get to the ultimate level of the NHL, as he got to meet players from the Vegas Golden Knights and Florida Panthers at practice during the Stanley Cup Finals.
In this clip, Bedard spoke to the media, including our own Russ Cohen, about a variety of topics including his admiration for the players’ chefs and cars, and elaborated on his journey to being hockey’s top prospect.

At this time, Bedard doesn’t have any official NHL rookie cards, but that will change in the very near future. However, he has CHL and Team Canada cards starting during the 2021-22 season.
