Off The Post: Kris Letang NHL Hockey Cards, Pittsburgh Penguins – A former 3rd round pick of the Pittsburgh Penguins in the 2005 NHL Entry Draft, Letang is in the midst of his 16th season in the Steel City and the final year of his eight-year contract. And, so far, he’s off to one of the best starts of his career.

For years, Letang has been a consistent offensive force from the blue-line, and this season, the 34-year old Letang has continued that trend as he’s recorded 28 points (1 goal and 27 assists) in 30 games. During his time with the Penguins, the six-time All-Star was a part of three Stanley Cup Championship teams and has been one of the most efficient defensemen in the game.

Being in the final year of his contract, Letang recently suggested he would like to play five more years, if not more. Whether those years will be in Pittsburgh or not, Letang also mentioned that he’s focused on this season and not his impending free agency, especially since the current Penguins’ team reminds him of the 2015-16 squad that won the Stanley Cup.

In this clip, captured by our own Russ Cohen, Letang talked about the Penguins’ recent 6-2 road win against the Philadelphia Flyers (the win was the Penguins’ 10th straight victory). Letang also tried to answer if this is the best season of his career.
