Panini Redemption Report – 2-08-21 – Another big week! – This week’s report from Panini America has 19 pages of redemption news! It features redemptions from across the landscape – Baseball, Basketball, Football and Hockey with cards coming back from as far back as 2010!
We’ll start this week’s review with Football. It looks like players eliminated from playoff competition (or those who didn’t make the postseason) prior to this weekend’s Super Bowl took advantage of their early offseason as NUMEROUS rookies from 2020 sets are now being fulfilled. This includes multiple cards from the likes of Cam Akers, Brandon Aiyuk, Chase Young, Chase Claypool, D’Andre Swift, CeeDee Lamb, and Joe Burrow. Sets that saw returns from 2020 include Origins, Spectra, Contenders Draft Picks and others.
On to Hockey we’ll go next, as Panini continued to make good on long out-standing redemptions. Nearly 100 shinny cards were included in this week’s report, spanning all the years of the company’s most recent fully-licensed campaign. The names coming back aren’t ones to overlook either – Bobby Clarke, Bobby Ryan, Claude Giroux, Brett Hull and a host of others are now accounted for.
Turning to Basketball, a small but important stack is now in. Luka Doncic returned cards from two sets – 2018-19 Opulence and 2018-19 Contenders Optic. Gordon Hayward was the other returnee.
Finally, in Baseball, J.D. Martinez made good on unfulfilled cards from 2020 Absolute.
