Product Rewind: 2016 Topps Chrome Baseball – Chasing Correa! – Despite the laborious efforts put forth by the trading card manufactures to insure the timely return of key autograph content, things don’t always go according to plan. Such was the case with Carlos Correa’s 2015 Topps Chrome rookie autographed cards. Topps was unable to complete the deal with Correa prior to the product’s ship date. They weren’t even able to insert them as redemptions.
However, instead of destroying them, which has sometimes been the case, Topps made a decision that should give collectors a reason to celebrate.
The company included them in 2016 Topps Chrome Baseball. Their inclusion, in addition to the robust checklist of autographs of other key rookies, makes 2016 Topps Chrome Baseball a product worth revisiting.
Also included on the 2016 Topps Chrome Rookie Autograph checklist are standout players, such as: Miguel Sano, Kenta Maeda, Greg Bird, Kyle Schwarber, Trea Turner, Trevor Story, Michael Conforto, Luis Severino, and Corey Seager.
The card stock of Topps Chrome products has always lent itself well to grading. As a result, high-grade examples are easier to obtain as shown in the population reports of both BGS and PSA. Because of the high grades the Chrome Rookie Autographs often receive, their secondary market values
have not only held their value but have increased as many of these players have become bonafide stars.
