2016 Topps UFC Champions
A case in point is 2015 Topps UFC Champions. Released nearly a year ago (October 28th, 2015), big hits are still finding their way to the secondary market from recent box breaks. Realized prices for both autographed and non-autographed rookie cards of top UFC fighters continue to perform well. Often times these prices are on par, or even exceed those of rookie stars from more mainstream sports like football and baseball.
With the rise of Conor McGregor as one of the circuit’s most dominant fighters, his cards, in particular those from 2015 Topps UFC Champions, are commanding top dollar on the secondary market. Recent sales of his Scarlet Signatures card, which features red ink and is limited to just 25 copies, have seen multiple sales of nearly $400 each!
McGregor came to prominence last year at UFC 194, after defeating José Aldo for the featherweight championship. The victory came via knockout after only thirteen seconds in the first round. It is the fastest victory in UFC title fight history.
His celebrity lifestyle, trash-talking and outgoing personality has endeared him to both fans and the media. As a result of this notoriety, he has become somewhat of a pop culture icon. In addition, his regular autograph card from the same product which is un-numbered, consistently sells in the $100 range.
However, as previously mentioned it’s not just autographed cards that deliver solid value from the product. As an example, McGregor’s Base Blue Parallel, #’d to 88, regularly sells for $20 or more!
The growing popularity of the UFC’s women’s division has caused a huge spike in the values of autographed cards for woman on the roster. Two of the most notable being Paige VanZant and Joanna Jedrzejczyk. In fact, 2015 Topps UFC Champions features both fighters very first UFC autographed cards. While many people are familiar with VanZant, Jedrzejczyk is a bit lesser known.
From here Wikipedia profile, “She is a Polish mixed martial artist (MMA) who competes in the women’s strawweight division of the Ultimate Fighting Championship. She is the UFC Women’s Strawweight Champion and the third European champion in UFC history after Bas Rutten in 1999, and Andrei Arlovski in 2005. As of July 22, 2016, she is the consensus #1 female strawweight and #1 pound-for-pound female MMA fighter in the world. She is also currently the #7 pound-for-pound fighter in the UFC mixed gender rankings, making her the only female on the list.”

2016 Topps UFC Knockout
Key cards from this brand center around the much publicized Ronda Rousey. Her autographed cards were originally redemptions but have since been fulfilled. A look at recent sales on the secondary market see her dominating the list. One card in particular features her in a fight with Holly Holm who eventually dethroned Rousey as Bantamweight champion.
In addition, Knockout introduced a themed-insert set titled Museum. Capitalizing on the popularity of the Museum Collection brand, Knockout features Museum Framed Autographs. Again, Rousey’s lead the way in terms of secondary market value with recent sales of $275 and $300.
The set also features several high-profile Dual Autographed cards. Some of the most valuable pairings include Conor McGregor and Robbie Lawler and Conor McGregor and UFC founder and CEO Dana White. Both cards were issued as redemptions, however, since the product’s release, the McGregor/White card has been fulfilled and is in-house at Topps.
2015 Topps UFC Knockout includes opportunities for collectors to pull amazing memorabilia cards. These are highlighted by the Logo Patch Fight Glove cards, all of which are 1-of-1’s. The product also includes the opportunity to redeem complete fight-worn gloves!
