Racing Future Watch: Amaury Cordeel F1 Cards, Hitech Pulse Eight – Amaury Cordeel is the second professional race driver in his family. His brother Ghislain drove in the Porsche Supercup and the Formula Renault Eurocup. Cordeel is now carving his own path in the FIA Formula 2 circuit.
Rare among many of his peers today, Cordeel emerged into formula racing having not raced karts, only gaining testing experience. Cordeel’s debut came at the 2017 French F4 Championship, where he placed 16th in the standings.
2018 was an extraordinarily busy year for Cordeel. It was one that put him on the radar, as he raced in five different circuits! Cordeel started the year with the 2017–18 Formula 4 UAE Championship, winning his first professional race and taking three podiums. In the ADAC Formula 4 Championship, Cordeel placed 23rd on a limited schedule. In the Italian F4 Championship, he raced another partial schedule and finished 31st. The SMP F4 Championship was a platform for success, as Cordeel won two races, scored four podiums and finished eighth. Then the Spanish F4 Championship represented a true breakthrough, as Cordeel won four races en route to the series title.
Over the next few years, Cordeel’s advancement to F2 took place across several circuits: the F3 Asian Championship in 2019-20, the Formula Renault Eurocup in 2019-20, the Toyota Racing Series in 2020 and the FIA Formula 3 Championship in 2021. Along the way, the hard work that Cordeel defines himself by has allowed him to grow and adapt at each level. Having amassed 29 points in 2024, his most in F2, Cordeel is continuing to establish himself as a top up-and-coming formula racing driver.
