He is the son of Randy Dye, a onetime Pro Late Model driver who is now on the board of directors for The NASCAR Foundation. Dye has also been an activist for mental health programs, earning acclaim for his character as well as his prowess on the track.

Dye got his feet wet in the ARCA Menards Series East in 2020 with two races before coming back full-time the next year. Even with the disruption of a team switch midseason, Dye managed to finish in second place with three podiums. That same year, Dye ran part-time in the ARCA Menards Series and picked up his first victory at that level. 2022 would mark a breakthrough with a second-place finish in the series behind six podium appearances as Dye captured Rookie of the Year honors.

Panini has the most, with Prizm, Chronicles, Prime, and National Treasures on the market. Great memorabilia is out there as well, much of it autographed, including booklets and swatches.
