He’s challenging strongly for the 2024 Formula 2 championship, as he prepares to become the first Brazilian to drive full-time in Formula 1 since Felipe Massa. A protégé of another Formula 1 great, Fernando Alonso, Bortoleto  started in karts in Brazil in Campeonato Sulbrasileiro de Kart. 2018 was Bortoleto’s breakthrough year, taking vice-champion status in the WSK Super Master Series and the Andrea Margutti Trophy. He also placed third in the European and World Championships in the OKJ-category.

Bortoleto’s single-seat debut came in the 2020 Italian F4 Championship. There he finished fourth among rookies and fifth in the overall standings. Bortoleto followed that up with a win in four races in Stock Light Brasil in 2021.

Racing Future Watch: Gabriel Bortoleto F1 Cards, Sauber2022 was another year of growth with a win in six races in Formula Regional Asia and two wins and five podiums in Formula Regional Europe en route to a sixth-place finish in the standings. Bortoleto moved up to Formula 3 in 2023 and shockingly dominated at age 18. He claimed the championship behind two wins, six podiums, and a pole position.

A similar steep uphill progression took place in 2024 in Formula 2, as Bortoleto closes in on a potential championship behind two wins, six podiums, and two pole positions. As truly unbelievable as Bortoleto has been in 2023-24 and as monumentally promising as he is for the future, it is a measure of the immense respect that McLaren has for him that they were willing to release him to secure a Formula 1 opportunity in 2025 with Sauber. Excitement about Bortoleto’s future is at an incredible level. Few drivers in recent history have come into F1 with as much momentum.

Bortoleto has cards and stickers on the market dating to 2023, with parallels and inserts among them. Topps Now and Topps Formula 1 Turbo Attax comprise the offerings.
