Racing Future Watch: Josef Newgarden Racing Cards, IndyCar – Josef Newgarden joined a select list in 2024. He etched his name alongside Wilbur Shaw, Mauri Rose, Bill Vukovich, Al Unser Jr, and Helio Castroneves as back-to-back winners of the Indianapolis 500. Now Newgarden has a chance to succeed where the previous five drivers could not, become the first ever to win three years in a row.

Newgarden is also the 16th driver ever to capture the Indianapolis 500 and the 24 Hours of Daytona. The path to his present success began at age 13 when Newgarden won four karting titles in 2005-06. He moved to open-wheel competition in 2006. Within two years, Newgarden became the first American-born driver to capture a Formula Ford Festival title.

Relocating to Europe in 2009, Newgarden promptly finished second in the British Formula Ford Championship with a circuit-leading nine wins. Back in the States, Newgarden raced in the Indy Lights Series in 2011. He took home five wins, 10 podiums, and the series championship before the final race.

Racing Future Watch: Josef Newgarden Racing Cards, IndyCar In 2012, Newgarden made it to the IndyCar Series and within three years began a remarkable, decade-long streak of Top 10 finishes. Within that span, 2016-23 marked an incredible span of Top 5 finishes: fourth, first, fifth, first, second, second, second and fifth, respectively. A former American Ninja Warrior contestant and co-author of the children’s book Josef’s BIG Dream, Newgarden is an engaging public figure whose appeal extends far beyond his on-track success. Already one of the greatest drivers ever to race for the legendary Roger Penske, Newgarden continues to aggressively chase history.

Newgarden has had cards and stickers on the market since 2024. Many parallels and inserts are available. Cards are available through Parkside. The most valued variations of that presently on eBay are the Pacific Indycar 500 Gold Refractor and Pacific Indycar 500 Signature Series. Don’t miss the great memorabilia that is out there as well, including pit crew shirts, programs, diecasts, pit badges and posters – many of them autographed.
