Racing Future Watch: Tanner Gray Racing Cards, NASCAR – Tanner Gray is a unique young driver who has shown the ability to compete professionally on wildly different racing circuits. Many drivers over the decades have moved back and forth from stock car racing to open-wheel racing. Much rarer is what Gray has managed by becoming a standout in both stock car racing and drag racing! These disparate skills come in part from heredity: Gray’s father drove in NHRA, his grandfather drove Funny Car, and his brother Tanner competes with him in the NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series.
Initially racing in Pro Stock, Gray won his first race less than two weeks shy of his 18th birthday in 2017. He took home the Auto Club Road to the Future Award that year. Gray won an eye-popping eight races the next year to become the youngest NHRA season champion ever.
On top of the world quickly in his initial pursuit, Gray moved to the NASCAR K&N Pro Series East circuit in 2019 to work towards replicating the feat in sports cars. By May, Gray had earned his first victory. Months later, Gray debuted in the truck series, where he has since amassed 27 Top 10 finishes. He continues his improvement both there and in the ARCA Menards Series. Gray is carving out a career that, if it continues in this direction, will lead to him being recognized for an unprecedented feat in all auto racing.
Gray’s cards and stickers date back to 2020. Many parallels and inserts are available. There is a tremendous amount of variety in the marketplace. Panini (Spectra, Prime, Chronicles, National Treasures and Prizm) Score, Donruss (Optic) Select. There’s a great deal of memorabilia, much of it autographed, including swatches, booklets, shoes, laundry tags, gloves, and track passes.
