Roadshow Trade NightRoadshow Cards, Card Collector 2 Official National Trade Night – Seven years after it started with just 30 collectors in a hotel ballroom, wildly popular Thursday Trade Night earns official designation; event to be held in National venue for the first time.

The first time Roadshow Cards founder Jimmy Mahan and Card Collector 2 founder Ryan Johnson held their now-iconic Thursday Trade Night during the National Sports Collectors Convention, the year was 2016 and the event attracted fewer than 40 people. Last year, it attracted more than 3,000.

That 1,000 percent growth in attendance in just six years can be attributed to many factors, not the least of which are passion, enjoyment, and social media buzz. The results are undeniable. The Thursday staple is a must-attend event and has become the most popular and most attended Trade Night annually. And this year, for the first time, it becomes the Official Trade Night of the National Sports Collectors Convention.

This year’s event – sponsored by Panini America, Goldin, and Whatnot – will take place Thursday evening, July 28, inside the Atlantic City Convention Center, the first time a Trade Night will be held inside the NSCC venue. As has been the case from the beginning, Trade Night will be free to attend and is open to all National attendees.

“We are absolutely blown away by the incredible support our Trade Night has received over the years and are extremely proud to say we are now the ‘Official Trade Night of the National,’ ” Mahan said. “Our goal from the beginning was to create a welcoming and inclusive event that was fun, free, positive, and memorable. The fact that we’ve been able to do that is a true testament to the goodness of the collecting community and, as we’ve grown, the incredible generosity of our sponsors.”

Added Johnson: “National Trade Night is a massive undertaking but is easily one of the most rewarding projects of my year every year. It’s incredible to think of where this event started and how it’s grown. That’s as humbling as it is exciting and we’re looking forward to delivering the best Trade Night yet in Atlantic City.”

Organizers are expecting this year’s Trade Night to be the biggest one yet and, as a result, are asking those who plan to attend to take one minute to fill out the online guest list. In addition to being treated to an unparalleled trading experience with collectors from across the world, attendees will receive the exclusive Trade Night T-shirt (while supplies last) and Trade Night goodie bags with randomly inserted door prizes.

This year’s event also will include the live finale of the SlabStox Camp Kesem fundraiser.
