She has quickly become one of the world’s top women’s soccer players – even though she has had to overcome numerous knee injuries.

Born in Alpharetta, GA, Bethune moved to England in her youth when her military parents were stationed there. With no girls teams available, Bethune fit right in playing in boys leagues.

Back in the States, Bethune joined the ECNL’s Concorde Fire Soccer Club in Atlanta and earned National Best XI in 2017 and 2018. Bethune also played for Alpharetta High School, accepting a scholarship offer from USC over several other schools.

Bethune’s freshman season was interrupted by her second ACL tear. 16 goals in the fall 2021 season proved the return successful, as did a nine-minute hat trick in the first game of the NCAA Tournament.

Soccer Future Watch: Croix Bethune Soccer Cards, Washington Spirit Wishing to explore her opportunities at Georgia, Bethune transferred during rehabilitation from a third ACL tear and led the Bulldogs to their first-ever SEC title. Bethune’s college exploits made her Washington’s third overall pick in the 2024 NWSL Draft. She wasted no time justifying that status with a goal in her first week and a league-record three assists in a game six weeks later.

Bethune tied the league’s assist record and became NWSL Rookie of the Year, Midfielder of the Year, and NWSL Best XI selection. All this, notwithstanding missing the last two months of the season due to a torn meniscus. A stalwart of USA Soccer, where she notched gold at the 2016 CONCACAF Girls’ U-15 Championship, the 2018 CONCACAF Women’s U-17 Championship, and the 2024 Summer Olympics, Bethune projects as an unstoppable force both domestically and on the world stage for many years to come.

Bethune’s cards and stickers, dating to 2024, feature distinct options, such as the 2024 Parkside NWSL Collection Volume 1, which includes the Rookie Card and Black and White Variant and 2024 Parkside Pronto NWSL, which includes a Week 2 short-print card and a paired card with San Diego Wave’s Jaedyn Shaw. On eBay, some of the top samples previously available are the 2024 Parkside NWSL Vol 1 Promising Prospects Red/30 and 2024 Parkside Pacific NWSL Next Wave Gold Washington Spirit.
