Presently, he is a standout for Strasbourg and the Serbian national team. Athletic and very strong against penalty kicks, Petrovic has played in different corners of the world in his young career.

Petrovic first made a name for himself in 2014 at the FK Cukaricki Academy. He had a loan to FK IMT interspersed in his development. Petrovic’s 78 league appearances for Cukaricki included four UEFA Europa Conference League games and four Serbian Cup contests.

Moving to the shores of the west to continue his development in 2022, Petrovic signed with the New England Revolution. Within three months, Petrovic had earned a spot on the MLS Team of the Week. In August, Petrovic pitched four consecutive shutouts for a total of 371 minutes. Unsurprisingly, he was a finalist for MLS Newcomer of the Year and MLS Goalkeeper of the Year.

At one point, Petrovic exceeded expected goals on target by 16.2, at a time when successful peers only hit 5.5. Weeks after making the MLS All Star Team and being named Midseason Goaltender of the Year by MLS Extratime Radio, Petrovic was on his way to Chelsea in a big-money transfer.

Playing time was sporadic and Petrovic was loaned to Strasbourg in August 2024. His continued development on league and international stages will be watched closely by soccer fans in the years to come.
