Soccer Future Watch: Endrick Soccer Cards, Real Madrid – Endrick Felipe Moreira de Sousa, known as Endrick, made an impact at Wembley Stadium in a very memorable way. He earned a headline from Sky News that read “Endrick: Who is Brazil’s latest football prodigy?” The answer is every bit as fascinating at Endrick’s game itself.
The son of a lower-level professional soccer player in Brasília, Endrick grew up in poverty as his parents struggled to make enough money to feed their family. The fire was lit in the youngster early on. He started playing soccer at age four and vowed to become a star player who could save his family. Endrick’s father, believing in his vast potential, began posting his highlight reels on YouTube, in what turned out to be a successful attempt to get him into a top youth program.
Playing for the Palmeiras youth team, Endrick scored 165 goals in 169 games over five years. In 2022, he led Palmeiras to their first title in the Copa Sao Paulo de Futebol Junior behind eight goals in seven matches. As such, he earned Player of the Tournament honors. On October 6, 2022, Endrick became the youngest player in the history of the Palmeiras senior professional team. He helped them to their 11th league championship while being named most promising player in the Serie A. Endrick followed this up by leading them to a 12th title while posting 11 goals. That was the second highest by an under-18 player in a Serie A season – behind only Ronaldo!
In December 2022, Real Madrid acquired the rights to Endrick, effective on his 18th birthday, July 21, 2024. Playing for Brazil against England in a pre-Olympic friendly at Wembley Stadium on March 23, 2024, Endrick earned the above headline from Sky News. Due to being the youngest player in the history of the legendary stadium to score in club or international play. An explosive scorer, Endrick has been compared to many of his legendary countrymen, including Romario and even Pele! Endrick is one of the fastest-rising megastars that the sport has seen in many years.
