Soccer Future Watch: Ivan Jaime Soccer Cards, FC Porto – Ivan Jaime is ready to ascend to La Liga play, as the interest from multiple clubs attests. In a larger sense, Jaime’s ascent to greater heights in the soccer world has been underway for years.
Growing up in Málaga, Andalusia, Jaime made his way into the Malaga CF youth system after previous stints with Roma Luz and Conejito. Debuting with Malaga B in 2017, Jaime was promoted to the first team in September of the next year, netting his first goal ten weeks later. By June 2020, Jaime was suiting up for Malaga in the Segunda Division.
But it was in the 2020-21 season that Jaime really got a chance to start proving himself. This, once he moved to Famalicao in Primeira Liga. The numbers told the tale for the developing attacking midfielder/winger: four goals and two assists in 22 games. Jaime outperformed his expected goals (2.4). When he matched his expected goals exactly the next year but only tallied a single goal, it was only a matter of his luck catching up with him.
By 2022-23, it was time for Jaime to break through. His nine goals and three assists told the tale – with an additional two goals and two assists outside league play. Jaime moved over to Porto for the 2023-24 season. He got off to a rough start but erupted in early 2024-25 play with two goals and two assists.
Relative to others at his position in Men’s Next 14 Competitions over the last year, Jaime ranks in the top 83rd percentile in shot-creating actions, in the 82nd in pass completion, and the 81st in assists. Both in league play and for the Spanish national team, Jaime is proving that he has a very bright future.
