Soccer Future Watch: Ken Izekor Soccer Cards, Bayer Leverkusen – Ken Izekor is a fast-rising young forward of German Nigerian heritage. At age 16 and 204 days, Izekor became the youngest player of Nigerian descent ever to appear in the UEFA Europa League in December 2023. He was also the youngest player to suit up for Bayer Leverkusen in any competition.

Born in Aachen, Germany, Izekor started in the youth system of Alemannia Aachen before moving to the academy of Bayer Leverkusen. Izekor exploded with 14 goals for the Leverkusen U-17 squad in 2022-23. What followed was not surprising. On February 18, 2023, Izekor signed a three-year professional contract with Leverkusen. Five goals in five games for the U-17 team were tallied in 2023-24. In all, Izekor scored 22 goals in his first 35 games for the U-17s.

Izekor debuted with the U-18 German team in November 2023. Izekor has also had a few call-ups to Bundesliga play, albeit he is being brought along very slowly. He was previously featured by Leverkusen on their website as an example of how their young players persisted in their development during the most challenging days of COVID-19. It even included scenarios that he painted on video calls about how to set up scoring opportunities. Izekor is a young man with sharp skills and a mind to match. It is this combination that has made him a highly coveted young forward at soccer’s highest levels.

Izekor’s cards and stickers first came out in 2024. Parallels and inserts feature many different options. Topps Chrome UEFA Competitions represents the offerings. The 2024 Topps Gem Ultimate Stage Chrome Autographed Rookie and 2024-25 Topps UEFA RC Orange Foilboard Gem Mint are the top items presently available on eBay. Jerseys are also available, many of them autographed.
