Born in Lisbon, Portugal, in 2002, Mendes began his youth career at 9 years old with Sporting CP Academy. After impressing in the youth teams, he made his professional debut for the club in June 2020, at just 17 years old.
Mendes quickly established himself as a regular in the Sporting CP team and gained recognitions as one of the most talented fullbacks in the world. He was a key player for Sporting CP as they won the Primeira Liga title in the 2020/21 season. Mendes was named the league’s best young player.
His impressive performances also led to Mendes making his debut for the Portugal national team in 2021 against Azerbaijan and he has since become a regular in the squad.
Numerous elite clubs became interested in signing Mendes. Paris Saint-Germain recruited the youngster initially on loan in 2021/22. There was an option to buy which they took up for a €40 m fee in the summer of 2022.
Overall, Nuno Mendes is a highly talented young footballer who has already achieved a great deal in his career. He has the potential to become one of the best left-backs in the world and is already being compared to some of the greats of the game. His attacking prowess and defensive solidity are perfect for modern-day football.

Mendes rookie cards came during the 2021/22 season in Topps and Panini releases with Paris Saint-Germain and Portugal. Some highlights include autograph cards and rare parallels, such as Topps Chrome. Those are nice collectable cards to keep as a fan and as a long-term investment. His cards are at a relatively low price for such a talented and already well-established player playing at the top of world football.
