By 2021, Driussi had his eye on another step up in competition. Consequently, he bought out the remaining year of his contract. He joined first-year expansion team Austin FC under the vaunted designated player stipulation for their stretch run. Driussi posted five goals in 17 games, a per-game rate he only bettered once previously, whilst also adding five assists. This set the stage for a tremendous breakthrough in 2022. 22 goals and seven assists in 34 games from Driussi led Austin to the Division 1 Copa Tejas championship and the MLS Western Conference Final in only their second year of existence.
As such, Leeds United came calling with an opportunity in the Premier League, but Driussi chose to stay in Austin. He picked up right where he left off with eight goals and three assists in 21 games in 2023. The star midfielder is now locked in through 2025, with an additional option year in 2026. Driussi has found a home in the heart of Texas as he builds a career that is celebrated even by the elevated standards of Argentine soccer.
