Moukoko began his youth career with St. Pauli. He moved on to Borussia Dortmund in 2016 at the age of 12. There, he quickly established himself as one of the top young talents in the club’s academy, scoring an impressive number of goals in the youth leagues. In the 2019-2020 season, he broke the record for most goals scored in the U-17 Bundesliga, scoring 34 in 20 appearances.
His performances in the youth leagues caught the attention of Dortmund’s first-team coach, Lucien Favre, who promoted him to the first team. Moukoko made his debut for the club in November 2020, becoming the youngest player ever to play in the Bundesliga at 16 years, 1 day old. He went on to score his first goal for the club in December 2020 and has been a regular member of the first-team squad since then.
Moukoko is considered one of the most promising young talents in world football, and his performances have caught the attention of some of the top clubs in Europe. He’s known for his incredible speed, finishing and ability to score goals in various ways. He’s also a hard worker off the ball, always looking to press and win the ball back for his team.
He has stepped up well this season for Dortmund, scoring crucial goals following the departure of Haaland. He became the youngest-ever player to play for Germany in a World Cup in 2022, at the age of 18.
There is a lot of interest in signing Moukoko as a free transfer in the Summer of 2023 when his contract expires. Clubs like Chelsea and Newcastle have shown a strong interest.
It’s being heavily rumoured and I believe that Moukoko will stay for a couple more years at Dortmund. They are known for maximising young players potential and selling for a high fee in the future. This will benefit Moukoko as he continues to focus on his development without the media hype and pressure of a big move.
Moukoko’s cards hit a peak during the 2020/21 season, he was the hot rookie during the pandemic at a time of rapid hobby growth. These prices have come down since then, with several great options including Bundesliga and UEFA rookie cards.
