Last week, The Upper Deck Company officially kicked off their 25th Anniversary with a series of announcements related to how they will be celebrating this historic event. In addition, representatives of the country traveled far and wide, jet-setting across the continent making surprise visits to various hobby shops. The Upper Deck marketing team, headed by Chris Carlin, handed out boxes, packs, tickets to area sporting events, signed memorabilia and more.

He had this to say about his recent travels, “A key aspect of our 25th Anniversary celebration here at Upper Deck will be to get out and visit the shops who work so hard on the front lines to keep our customers happy. It is important for us to say thank you to these shops and their customers for supporting Upper Deck over the last quarter century. Recently I visited five GTS customers in the Southern California area and plan on visiting more in the future. It was great to spend time with them and share some cool promotional items with them!”

It was twenty-five years ago last week, that the first case of Upper Deck trading cards was delivered to a shop in Tulsa, Oklahoma. The company’s goal of delivering anti-counterfeit technology, superior printing and photography to develop a premium brand of trading cards was met with immediate applause. The company has been on the forefront of innovation in the trading card market ever since.

Always one to give back, the company is planning a number of promotions to celebrate their silver anniversary by thanking not only retailers but collectors as well. Store owners can nominate a collector to potentially get a surprise mail day from Upper Deck. Here is a look at some of the visits made in the US and Canada last week.
