Derek Jeter Retrospective Insert Added to 2017 Topps Archives – As if this retro-favorite release needed another reason to get collectors excited. Topps announced thay they will be adding a a special Derek Jeter Retrospective Insert subset to 2017 Topps Archives Baseball.
2017 Topps Archives Baseball is scheduled to release Wednesday, May 31st, 2017.
Inserted at the rate of 1:12 packs, this subset will recreate an iconic Topps card, the majority of which will be of Topps flagship designs. They will showcase Jeter’s prospect and MLB playing career covering the years of 1993-2015.
There will be 21 cards in the set. Each card will feature a Derek Jeter special edition foil stamp, which will be silver on the base versions.
Parallels for the set will be stamped with a color foil and include:
- Blue foil #’d to 150
- Green foil #’d to 99
- Gold foil #’d to 50
- Red foil #’d to 10
- Black foil #’d 1-of-1
In addition to the 21 subjects listed above, three cards will be short-printed and seeded at the rate of one per case. These cards will be Jeter’s famous 1993 Topps Draft Pick card and his final flagship release, the 2015 Topps card. The third short-print will be the much hyped 2007 Jeter short-print variation that included images of both Mickey Mantle and President George Bush.
Base versions of these cards will also feature a silver foil Derek Jeter special edition stamp. The parallels will feature similar, color foil stamping including:
- Green foil #’d to 99
- Gold foil #’d to 50
- Red foil #’d to 10
- Black foil #’d 1-of-1
However, the most exciting part of this new addition to the already popular Topps Archives brand is that all of the Derek Jeter Retrospective Inserts, including short-prints, will receive an ON-CARD autographs! The only exception being the the 2007 variation card. Cards will feature the Derek Jeter special edition foil stamp, which will be silver on the base auto and be numbered to 5. Parallel versions will be numbered with a 1-of-1 Black Foil Stamp.
