Future Watch: Marquese Chriss, Rookie Basketball Cards, Suns – An aggressive power forward with an NBA ready body to match, Chriss stands 6′-10″ tall and weighs in at 233 pounds. Although he was selected with the 8th overall pick by the Sacramento Kings in the 2016 NBA Draft, he was traded to the Phoenix Sun later on draft night.

The Sacramento, California native declared for the NBA Draft upon completion of one season playing NCAA ball for the Washington Huskies. He started all 34 games during the team’s 2015–16 season, averaging 13.7 points, 5.4 rebounds and 1.6 blocks per game. As a result, he earned honorable mention Pac-12 All-Freshmen selection.

Chriss has an explosive game above the rim. He has a solid, versatile all-around offensive game. He gets back quickly on defense but can also chase to the basket delivering big blocks from behind.

NBA Draft Analyst, Marc D’Amico, said before the draft, “Marquese Chriss might wind up being the most complete offensive player in this Draft, although he may not become the highest-scoring player in this Draft. He has small forward skills but owns a natural power forward body. He’s incredibly fluid for his size, yet still possesses the strength of a big man. He can do it all on offense. He is very capable of taking the ball off the dribble and does so with a nice handle and a very quick first step, particularly for his position. He is very comfortable operating in the post and has nice touch around the rim.” Marquese Chriss NBA Draft Profile.

Chriss has already been part of an NBA record. On October 26th, 2016, the Phoenix Suns became the first team in NBA history to field three teenagers on the court at the same time. He was joined by teammate Devin Booker and fellow rookie Dragan Bender.
