Marvel Fans are Making Fleer Retro a Blockbuster Hit!
Upper Deck Entertainment’s 2013 Marvel Fleer Retro product has become an instant favorite with fans with many cards highly sought after by collectors!
Carlsbad, CA (September 18, 2013) – Less than a month ago Upper Deck Entertainment released 2013 Marvel Fleer Retro and collectors have been going crazy over this premium release since it hit store shelves. And what is not to like considering the product is loaded with a bevy of fan-favorite insert cards playing on the rich history of Fleer Marvel brands with “Intimidation Nation,” “Jambalaya,” and “Precious Metal Gems.” Those along with great art on base cards, autograph cards, one-of-one printing plate cards and hand-drawn artist sketch cards have made this product a hit with collectors.
“We were not overly surprised by the popularity of the release given the strong collector support for Fleer Marvel products from over the years and this set is really a tribute to that,” said Bubby Johanson, Upper Deck Entertainment product manager. “We firmly believed that if we delivered a truly premium pack opening experience, Marvel fans would support the product and they certainly have thus far with many dealers selling out of their supply in the first week. Captivated they are. The new 2013 Fleer Retro “Precious Metal Gems” cards are routinely selling for over $100 each and some for over $300 through online auction sites like eBay. And it is similar story on insert sets like “Jambalaya” and the always popular artist-drawn sketch cards.
“We really challenged our artists to bring their ‘A’ game for 2013 Marvel Fleer Retro because it is an important release,” said Nick Leslie, Upper Deck Entertainment product coordinator. “They delivered by routinely delivering full color art and extremely compelling scenes that have struck a cord with Marvel fans and collectors alike.”
Many shops are now scurrying to secure more of the product which may be an uphill battle considering how limited production was on 2013 Marvel Fleer Retro. The reviews are in however and it is certainly a hit with Marvel fans.
