Hobby Musings: Discussing a crazy basketball card year – Part 1- The sports card world’s big 2020 has been fueled in large part by the NBA market and its impressive rookie class. With LeBron James and the Lakers winning the NBA Finals to end the season, the focus shifts to the upcoming draft and a new wave of prospects. Before that happens though, I had the chance to catch up with Beckett’s Steven Dalton via email to see what this past NBA season meant for the hobby.
The recent death of Cardinals pitcher Bob Gibson added to a year in which we’ve already lost Al Kaline, Tom Seaver and Lou Brock. As tributes poured in for all of these players, the hobby world also shared its own memories of the greats. That got me to thinking about my own hobby experiences with them.
Hobby Musings: Chatting with Rick Mirer – Former QB Rick Mirer has worn a lot of hats in his career. Among other things, he’s been the quarterback of the Notre Dame Fighting Irish, the No. 2 pick of the 1993 NFL draft, a longtime NFL gunslinger and a wine buff. He’s also signed countless autographs over the years and has lent his signature to help out Signatures for Soldiers.

In addition to the top names in baseball, the 2020 edition will continue the product’s tradition of including subjects outside the world of baseball in its checklist.
