Future Watch: Brice Turang Rookie Baseball Cards, BrewersFuture Watch: Brice Turang Rookie Baseball Cards, BrewersBrice Turang was drafted by the Milwaukee Brewers in the 2018 MLB Amateur Draft. He was the 21st overall selection and with that pick comes expectations. As a shortstop he can really impact the team when he gets that eventual call up. For now, he’s the Brewers third ranked prospect coming into the 2019 season.

He debuted with the Arizona League Brewers in 2018. In 47 at-bats he drove in seven and stole eight with a .319 batting average. His .421 on-base percentage was especially good.

After that he got a promotion to the Helena Brewers in the Pioneer League. In 112 at-bats he had four doubles, a home run and 11 RBI while hitting .268. He swiped six bases and still had an excellent .385 on-base percentage.

Collectors can get his 2018 Bowman Draft autographed rookie card.

According to his MLB.com draft profile:

Turang does everything fairly well, though a lack of a true plus carrying tool is one reason why scouts were a bit down on him. Most feel he has the chance to be a plus hitter with an advanced approach at the plate using a high-contact, line-drive spray kind of approach. With a lean frame, there is some question about how much strength he’ll add, with believers thinking power will come. Most feel he is a long-term shortstop, though some don’t see it as a slam dunk. Some feel Turang was hurt more from being seen for so long that he was bound to get knocked simply for not being the best player on the field at all times. Others haven’t seen him dominate the way they feel a top-of-the-Draft prospect should in high school. ETA 2022

Here’s a look at his spread batting stance.

As you can see, he has a frame that needs some more bulk. When he does that his power numbers should rise as well as other aspects of his game. He singled, scored a run and made a nice defensive play in his first spring training game. Soon every baseball fan will know about him.
