Future Watch: Chad Hansen Rookie Football Cards, JetsChad Hansen was drafted by the New York Jets in the fourth round of the 2017 NFL Entry Draft. Coming out of Fillmore, California. He didn’t have a lot of hype and the Jets may have snagged a good one with a lower round pick.

He attended Idaho State University. As a true freshman he played in 11 games and had 45 catches for 501 yards and three touchdowns. The next year he transferred to the University of California. He made the team as a walk on. Because of transfer rules he had to sit out 2014.

In 2015, he had 19 catches for 249 yards and a touchdown in 10 games. The next season he was named to the first team All-Pac 12 with 1,249 yards off of 92 receptions and he had 11 touchdowns in 10 games.

He skipped his senior year to enter the NFL Draft. The Jets took him and he broke in slowly. The Jets had a complicated offense for a new receiver and yet he still had nine receptions for 94 yards good for a 10.4 yards per catch average. The 6-1 receiver has good hands and he’s a fairly large target. He only started to get into games in the middle of November.

Here he is in action:

The Jets have completely overhauled their staff except the head coach. This bodes well for Hansen depending on who the quarterback is next season. The Jets have Kirk Cousins on their radar along with a few other veterans. This can only help the 23-year-old wideout.

He has rookie cards in 2017 Panini Contenders as well as Prizm and Optic. He has a pre-NFL card in 2017 Leaf Draft as well.

If he gets stronger, can get more comfortable with a new offense, he can have a defined role in the upcoming season. He could be a sleeper. You’ve been warned.
