Future Watch: Chandler Hutchison Rookie Basketball Cards, BullsFuture Watch: Chandler Hutchison Rookie Basketball Cards, BullsChandler Hutchison was born in Mission Viejo, California in 1996. He attended Mission Viejo High School where he lettered for three years. In his junior season, he averaged 13.8 points and 4.8 rebounds. As a senior, ESPN ranked him 80th in their top 100 prospects. That year, he averaged 19.5 points and helped lead Mission Viejo to the CIF Southern Section title game.

Hutchison headed to Boise State for college. He played in 29 games as a freshman, starting in in 18 of them. He averaged 3.1 points and 2.0 rebounds over 12.3 minutes per game. The small forward improved his game each year with the Broncos finishing his senior season with averages of 20.0 points, 7.7 rebounds, 3.5 assists and 1.5 steals per game. He was named First-team All-Mountain West and was a top-10 finalist for the Jerry West award.  He would also one of two players named Mountain West Player of the Year. Following his senior season, Hutchison declared himself eligible for the 2018 NBA draft.

Standing 6’7” with a 200 pound frame, Hutchison fits the mold for a modern combo forward in today’s NBA. Scouts praised his playmaking and ability to work in transition as a scorer or passer. They saw him as a touch small to play both forward positions as a rookie, but with a NBA strength and conditioning program he could develop into that type of player. On draft night, Hutchison was selected with the 22nd overall pick by the Chicago Bulls.

So far this season, Hutchison has had some good performances and some bad ones. Typical for a rookie. His best game came recently on January 25th when he played 41 minutes and scored 12 points in a loss to the Clippers. In that game he grabbed 12 boards, handed out two assists and added a steal to his final stat line. Unfortunately, in that game he suffered an injury in his right foot and will miss 2-4 weeks. The injury couldn’t have come at a worse time as Hutchison had recently been earning minutes with the starting five. Up until that point, Hutchison had caught the eye of many Bulls fans and collectors.

The Bulls have no reason to rush Hutchison back from his injury as they tank for a top pick in the 2019 draft. This should bode well for Hutchison. He can focus on making a full recovery before returning to the court. Now is the time to scoop up his rookie cards as he drops off many collecting radars. He could be a solid piece that gives Bulls fans hope as they work their way back to relevance in the Eastern Conference.

As a top draft pick, collectors can expect to find plenty of Hutchison’s rookie cards among Panini’s 2018-19 basketball portfolio. Look for him in his Boise State Broncos jersey in 2018 Contenders Draft Picks. You can find him in a Bulls jersey in 2018-19 Hoops, Prizm, Donruss Optic and many more.
