Future Watch: Cole Holcomb Rookie Football Cards, Redskins – Cole Holcomb was drafted by the Washington Redskins in the fifth round of the 2019 NFL Draft. He was the 26th linebacker drafted so what were the odds he could see playing time? Let’s go back and track his career.
In 2015, he played in 14 games, but he never started in one. He had 14 tackles and nine were solo.
In 2016, he played in 13 games and had 62 solo tackles and 115 of them in total. He added a sack and five passes defended.
In 2017, the Florida native played in 11 games and had 42 solo tackles and 93 in all. He had a half of a sack, 3 passes defended and one fumble recovery.
The linebacker played in 11 games again in 2018, he had 105 total tackles and 59 of them were of the solo variety. He added four forced fumbles, four passes defended and a sack for a 13-yard loss. He earned Second-Team All-ACC honors and was ready for the NFL Combine.
The 6-0, 231-pound prospect ran a 4.51 in the 40-yard dash, 11-foot broad jump and 22 reps on the weight bench.

In Week One against the Philadelphia Eagles, he had nine tackles, one of them was a solo. He finished his rookie campaign by adding three forced fumbles, one pass defended, one sack and 74 tackles, 68 of them were solo!
