Future Watch: Cole Kmet Football Cards, Bears – Cole Kmet was selected by the Chicago Bears with the 43rd overall pick in the 2020 NFL Draft. At 6-6, 262 pounds, this prospect is a force of nature.
The Lake Barrington, Illinois native attended St. Viator High School in Arlington Heights, Illinois. He was a two-sport athlete excelling in basketball and football. In his senior season, he caught 48 passes for 773 yards and four touchdowns. He was then invited to play in the 2017 U.S. Army All-American Bowl. After that, he committed to the University of Notre Dame.
In the 2019 opener against Georgia, the big target caught nine passes for 108 yards and a touchdown. The total for his three seasons at Notre Dame, he had 60 receptions for 691 yards. That’s good for 11.5 yards per catch and he found the endzone six times. He did throw one incomplete pass and ran back a kick return for 11 yards.
After his junior year, he announced that he would forego his senior season to enter the NFL Draft. Going into the draft most had him ranked as the second-best tight end on the board and many thought he was a first-round talent.
At the NFL Combine, he had to surprise a few running a 4.70 in the 40-yard dash. His vertical was 37 inches, great for any athlete.
Collectors can find Tee Higgins‘ pre-draft rookie cards in 2020 Panini Prizm Draft Picks, 2020 Leaf Draft, and 2020 Sage HIT Premier Draft High Series to name a few. His first cards were issued in 2017 Leaf Army All-American.
Here is some analysis on Kmet:
Kmet has great hands, speed and when he catches the ball defenders have to pile on to put him down and that always means extra yards after the catch. Whoever the quarterback is this year in Chicago, they will look for him in certain situations even as a rookie. He has a chance to be a top tight end in the NFL.
