Future Watch: Corbin Burnes Rookie Baseball Cards, Brewers – Corbin Burnes was drafted by the Milwaukee Brewers in the 4th round of the 2016 MLB Amateur Draft. He came out of St. Mary’s College where he spent three seasons. In his last season there he threw over 100 innings and had a 9-2 record with a 2.48 ERA. He struck out 120 batters there, a team high, and that helped get him drafted.
In 2016, he was 3-0 with two teams in rookie league ball. In 35 2/3 innings, the 6’3″ pitcher struck out 41 batters.
In 2017, he played in A+ Ball for the Carolina Mudcats. He was 5-0 and in 60 innings he struck out 56 and posted a minuscule 1.05 ERA.
He was promoted to the Biloxi Shuckers and there he posted a 3-3 record with a 2.10 ERA. In 85 2/3 innings, he struck out 84. He threw one complete game as well.
In 2018, he started out the year with the Colorado Springs Sky Sox. During his brief time there he was 3-4. He threw 78 2/3 innings and struck out 82. Even though his ERA was high he was called up to the Brewers in July. He went an amazing 7-0. He was in 30 games and finished six of them. He had a 2.61 ERA. He got in a playoff game and was 1-0 with no earned runs in two outings. He threw just four innings and struck out five.
