Future Watch: Damien Harris Rookie Football Cards, Patriots – Damien Harris was drafted by the New England Patriots with the 37th overall pick in the 2019 NFL Draft. The Kentucky native ran for 6,748 yards and 122 touchdowns! That turned him into a top-10 recruit in most eyes and the University of Alabama ended up getting him.
During his time with the Crimson Tide, during his freshman season, he only got into 10 games and he had 46 carries. He did find the endzone that season, but better things were on the horizon. He did get to experience the first of two national championships.
In 2016, he played in 15 games and netted 1,040 yards with two touchdowns and he added two more with receptions.
In 2017, he gained 1,000 yards and he had another season with more than a 7.0 yards per carry average. His long was 75 yards and he had 11 touchdowns. He added another National Championship.
In 2018, he played in 15 games. He had 150 carries and he gained 876 yards with nine touchdowns. He had a career high in receptions with 22 and that was good for 204 yards. He was voted All-SEC second team.
Three times his team was SEC champs so that was going to help him in the NFL Draft.
He shined at the Combine. He ran a 4.57-40-yard dash. After 16 reps on the bench press, his draft success would-be set-in-stone. Going early in the second round for a running back is still early.
He looked good in the preseason:
